Jules Asner

Asner was born Julie Ann White in Tempe, Arizona, the daughter of Lee White, a furniture saleswoman. At the age of sixteen Jules was discovered at a modeling convention in Scottsdale, Arizona. She began her career as an Elite model. Jules and Cindy Crawford shared a bunkroom in the early years of her modeling career. In 1986, Jules graduated from McClintock High School in Tempe. She has earned a degree in politics and journalism from UCLA 1992-1996 she was married to Ed Asner's son Matthew Asner. On May 10, 2003 she married movie director Steven Soderbergh.

Why Is She Famous?

Her face is all over the E! cable television channel. She was host of the Wild On... series, is a coanchor on E! News Daily, and now has an interview show called Revealed. In addition, Jules is a former Elite model.

Biography

Jules Asner was born on February 14, 1968, and grew up in Tempe, Arizona. Asner was given the name Julie at birth, with her real last name unknown to the public. Asner was her married name and although she is now divorced, she continues to use it.

She stood at 5'10" at age 11 and was discovered at a modeling convention in Scottsdale, Arizona at age 16. She left home a week later to sign with Elite Model Management and was soon off to modeling jobs in Europe and Asia.

After spending time modeling all over the world, Asner wanted to try something different. She settled in Los Angeles and enrolled at UCLA, obtaining a degree in political scienceand journalism. After short stints as a reporter for a local news show and a contributing reporter for several other shows, Jules joined E! Entertainment Television, as an entertainment news reporter and interviewer.

Jules soon replaced Eleanor Mondale as host of the Wild On... series, while Brooke Burke took the helm after Jules. Asner visited 25 different countries in the span of a year and a half on the show. She is now doing more reporting for E!, hosting movie premieres, covering film festivals, and doing celebrity press junket interviews. She is also host of E!'s interview show, Revealed.

Jessica Marie Alba (born April 28, 1981) is an American television and film actress.

Alba began her television and movie appearances at age 13 in Camp Nowhere and The Secret World of Alex Mack (1994). Alba rose to prominence with the television series Dark Angel (2000–2002), then expanding her résumé to film, predominantly within the confines of action and comedy. Career

Alba had expressed interest in acting since the age of five. She took her first acting class at age twelve. An acting agent signed her nine months later.

Her first appearance on film was a small role in the 1994 feature Camp Nowhere as Gail. She was originally hired for two weeks but her role turned into a two-month job in a leading role when one of the prominent actresses dropped out.

Public image

Askmen.com voted Alba No. 1 on 99 Most Desirable Women, while in 2007, Maxim Magazine placed Alba on the number 2 spot of their "Top 100", after Lindsay Lohan B oth GQ and In Style had Alba on their June covers, and in May, after eight million votes, FHM (UK and USA editions) named Alba the winner as "2007’s Sexiest Woman in the World". Alba continues to be regarded as one of the world's most attractive women, being named to Maxim's Hot 100 in 2008.

Alba has received successful public reception in popular culture. She received the Teen Choice Award for Choice Actress and Saturn Award for Best Actress (TV) for her role in Dark Angel.She has frequently appeared on Maxim's Hot 100 list. In 2006, Alba received an MTV Movie Award for "Sexiest Performance" for Sin City.

Personal life

Roman Catholic and still considers herself "spiritual". her adolescence, she became a born-again Christian, but left the church after four years because she felt she was being judged for her appearance, explaining:

Older men would hit on me, and my youth pastor said it was because I was wearing provocative clothing, when I wasn't. It just made me feel like if I was in any way desirable to the opposite sex that it was my fault, and it made me ashamed of my body and being a woman.

Alba also had objections to the church's condemnations of premarital sex and homosexuality, and the lack of strong female role models in the Bible, explaining "I thought it was a nice guide, but it certainly wasn't how I was going to live my life.", has stated that she still holds her belief in God despite leaving the church.

iPhone

The iPhone is an Internet-enabled multimedia mobile phone designed and marketed by Apple Inc. It has a multi-touch screen with virtual keyboard and buttons, but a minimal amount of hardware input. The iPhone's functions include those of a camera phone and portable media player (equivalent to the iPod) in addition to text messaging and visual voicemail. Screen and interface

The 3.5 in liquid crystal display (320×480 px at 160 ppi) HVGA touchscreen topped with optical-quality, scratch-resistant glass is specifically created for use with a finger, or multiple fingers for multi-touch sensing. Because the screen is a capacitive touchscreen, bare skin is required; a stylus or a normal glove prevents the necessary electrical conductivity.

Audio

The iPhone's headphones are similar to those of current iPods, but also incorporate a microphone. A multipurpose button in the microphone can be used to play or pause music, skip tracks, and answer or end phone calls without touching the iPhone. The iPhone features a built-in rechargeable battery that is not intended to be user-replaceable, similar to existing iPods, but dissimilar to most existing cellular phones. If the battery prematurely reaches the end of its life time, the phone can be returned to Apple and replaced for free while still in warranty,^[36] one year at purchase and extended to two years with AppleCare. The cost of having Apple provide a new battery and replace it when the iPhone is out of warranty is US$79 and US$6.95 for shipping.

The 2008 UEFA European Football Championship, commonly referred to as Euro 2008, is the 13th UEFA European Football Championship, a quadrennial football tournament for European nations. The tournament, which is being hosted by Austria and Switzerland, began on 7 June 2008 and is scheduled to conclude with the final at Ernst Happel Stadion in Vienna on 29 June 2008. It is the second successful joint bid in the competition's history. Greece were the defending champions, having won the previous tournament.

Sixteen teams are participating in the tournament. Austria and Switzerland automatically qualified as hosts; the remaining 14 teams were determined through qualifying matches, which began in August 2006. The winner of Euro 2008 will qualify for the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup in South Africa.

Venues

The tournament will be played at eight venues throughout the two host nations; four in Austria and four in Switzerland. Each venue has a capacity of at least 30,000 for the tournament; the largest stadium is Ernst Happel Stadion in Vienna with a capacity of 53,295. It is for this reason that Ernst Happel Stadion will host the final. Switzerland will play all of its group stage matches at St. Jakob Park in Basel, which also hosted the opening match of the tournament as a compromise for the final being held in Vienna. New trophy

A new trophy will be awarded to the winners of the Euro 2008 tournament. The new version of the Henri Delaunay Trophy, created by Asprey London, is almost an exact replica of the original designed by Arthus-Bertrand. A small figure juggling a ball on the back of the original has been removed, as has the marble plinth. The silver base of the trophy also had to be enlarged to make it stable. The names of the winning countries that had appeared on the plinth have now been engraved on the back of the trophy, which is made of sterling silver, weighs 8 kilograms (17.6 lb) and is 60 centimetres (24 in) tall.
